Principal Fiona Godfrey announced on Wednesday that extra classes would be offered from years 3 to 12 after earlier this year doubling enrolments in Radford's junior school.

From 2021, the school will offer four streams from pre-kindergarten to year 2, five streams from year 3 to year 6 and eight streams from year 7 to 12, leading to a school population of more than 2000 students.

The prestigious Bruce school has a traditionally healthy waiting list with its website reminding parents that only children who have been born can be registered for placement.

Mrs Godfrey said Wednesday's announcement was the school's most significant since the junior school was launched in 2006.

"It will benefit both our current students by virtue of additional programs that we can offer simply because of economies of scale but also will benefit those who are on our waiting list and those who would like to come to Radford College," she said.

Extra students would mitigate the impact of cuts brought by the federal government's new funding proposal and ensure fees did not significantly increase, Mrs Godfrey said.

The 2017 fee schedule shows parents pay between $9,900 and $16,045 for tuition at Radford.

"In many ways the timing's good because these changes will assist us as our government funding decreases over time," Mrs Godfrey said.

"We were going to do it anyway but the fact that we will be losing money over that 10-year period, somewhere in the order of about $23 million is the calculation that we've put on it, it will put us in a better position to be a larger school."

Radford also released its College Master Plan on Wednesday which detailed major upgrades and building projects planned for the next 10 to 15 years.

The document shows the junior school will receive new classrooms, a new library and a covered "upper terrace".

A new theatre and administration centre will be built and the secondary school will receive a new library, cafe, book shop, pool deck or sports centre as well as new classrooms.

Specialist classrooms for the junior school are expected to be completed this year with general classrooms for the junior and senior schools to be built by the end of 2018.

Mrs Godfrey said she was unable to put a dollar figure on the project with planning still under way. The school spent $2 million on a new entrance in 2015.

The school also launched the Radford College Development Foundation on Tuesday night.

"One of the things that we're trying to do through the formation of a foundation is to develop opportunities to offer scholarships to students who normally would not have the socioeconomic means to come to Radford," Mrs Godfrey said.
