Ms Gallagher said this morning that she remained committed to the reforms after Canberra Liberals' leader Zed Seselja predicted that Labor would change its plans if it formed government next week with the backing of the sole ACT Greens MLA Shane Rattenbury.

Mr Seselja said yesterday that whichever party took government next week, there would be changes to the reforms enacted in June's budget, with Greens support, which look to abolish stamp duty during the next 20 years, with much of the burden moved onto household rates.

The Liberals staked their election campaign on the claim that Labor and the Greens would "triple" rates throughout the city, a claim vociferously denied by the two parties.

Ms Gallagher told ABC radio this morning that her party remained committed to its reform agenda, despite the widespread belief that the Liberals' rates campaign gained the party seats at the October 20 poll.

"Mr Seselja does not speak on behalf of the Labor Party, he is not in Labor Party meetings, he is not involved in the formulation of Labor Party policy and he never will be," Ms Gallagher said.

"The Labor Party remains committed to tax reform.

"We've outlined a 20-year abolition timeframe for the abolition of stamp duty and we remain committed to that.

"Part of that is that looks at shifting that stamp duty burden onto other revenue lines including rates and we remain committed to that."

Mr Seselja hit out at The Canberra Times' coverage of his comments yesterday, claiming this morning that he said yesterday that he would not be backing down from his position on tax reform.

"I said it in the context that that we wouldn't be backing down on our position, that we wouldn't be changing our position," Mr Seselja said.
