Police said the driver was travelling north on Jerrabomberra Avenue about 7.45pm before turning left into a slip lane and colliding with the 21-year-old cyclist.
ACT Policing said the driver of the light-gold Mercedes accelerated once the cyclist was thrown onto the bonnet of his car.
The 21-year-old managed to roll himself of the bonnet of the vehicle while it was still moving and sustained abrasions to his arm. He was later treated at the Canberra Hospital for minor injuries.
ACT Policing would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the event. Those with information are being encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
