Fire crews from the ACT Emergency Services Agency were called to the fire at the Calvary Retirement Village at 4.21pm.

The crews helped put out the fire, which had already been largely extinguished by the emergency sprinkler systems, but people in eight units at the village were evacuated as a precaution.

No one was injured during the incident and while fire damage was minimal, there was extensive water damage inside the units due to the sprinklers.
