A retired Canberra man had a sleepless Monday night after he checked his lotto numbers and discovered he held a $1 million winning ticket.

When NSW Lotteries called the man on Tuesday morning to confirm the division one win, he was expecting the call.
"I checked my entry online last night and when I looked at the winning numbers I recognised them straight away.
"I saw that I had won division one and I was in shock, total shock. I still am!" he said.
"I didn't sleep all night."
The man, who will pay off his mortgage, is still thinking of what he'll do with the remainder of his prize.
The man bought the winning ticket at Erindale Newsagency. There were three division one winners in the same draw, with two Victorians also becoming overnight millionaires.
Newsagency manager Ben Sankey said the store was anticipating a win and staff had been talking with customers how the shop was due for a big windfall.
"We’ve sold 12 division one winning entries at our outlet over the years and we’re always so grateful to be involved in bringing the joy of selling a division one prize," Mr Sankey said.
