The family of a bushwalker missing in Kosciuszko National park have withdrawn their offer of a $15,000 reward, saying it may encourage amateur hikers into the rugged and dangerous mountains.

The reward was offered on Saturday to help find Canadian student Prabhdeep Srawn, 25, who was last seen when he parked his rental car at the Charlotte Pass village on May 13.
Family members have appealed to authorities to throw more resources into the search, including a plea to use troops.
Ohio-based relative Tej Sahota used Twitter on Saturday to send the following message:
"Find Prabh... get $15,000. Easiest money you’ll make hikers!’’
But later on Saturday he tweeted again:
"Reward retracted...risky to let individual hikers go and interfere according to Prabh’s sister.’’
An armed forces reservist, Mr Strawn has been trained to survive in freezing temperatures and police are still treating the case as a search and rescue operation.
