Several roads have been closed by the AFP in Russell this morning while a routine Defence evacuation exercise takes place.

From 9.45am until 12pm the following intersections around the Russell Precinct and Anzac Park West will be closed:
- Kings Avenue at the intersection with Parkes Way
- Russell Drive at the intersection with Morshead Drive
- Constitution Avenue at the intersection of Blamey Crescent
- Northcott Drive at the intersection with Fairbairn Avenue.
The exercise is part of the ADF’s emergency management planning and motorists should avoid the area.
Meantime in Campbell, Mount Ainslie Drive at the intersection with Fairbairn Avenue will also be closed between 2.30pm and 8.30pm while crews use the area for the production of a feature film.
Vehicles will be unable to access the Mt Ainslie summit during this time.
