Canberra commuters will be facing a series of road closures on main thoroughfares in Campbell as work continues on the Majura Parkway.

The $288 million project is behind rolling closures as bridgework is carried out on Fairbairn Avenue and Morshead Drive.

Fairbairn Avenue will be routinely closed between Majura Road and Addison Road from Thursday, June 27 to Friday, September 6.

The road will be closed to commuters from 8pm to 5.30am Sunday to Friday. The will also be closures over the weekend, from 9pm on Friday to 5.30am Saturday and 9pm Saturday to 5.30am Sunday.

Morshead Drive will also be closed between Pialligo Avenue and Fairbairn Avenue over the same periods.

Work on the 11.5km carriageway linking the Federal and Monaro Highways is expected to be completed around June 2016.

When completed, it will include 11 bridges, three interchanges and on-road cycle lanes.
