The RSPCA is pushing for two people to face court after a kitten with horrifying burns to almost a third of its body was dumped at a Canberra shelter.

The animal, named Elsa by staff, was caged in a red crate and left at the RSPCA's Weston Creek shelter last Thursday night.
RSPCA ACT chief executive Tammy Ven Dange said briefs against two people had been submitted with the Department of Public Prosecutions in relation to the kitten's burns.
On Monday, the RSPCA released CCTV footage which showed two people leaving the kitten at the shelter and urged anyone with information about the white cat dumped on the doorstep to come forward.
"We are thankful that both the media and the greater Canberra community were so quick to share this story," Ms Ven Dange said.
"As a result, we will be able to pursue some level of justice for the horrible injuries this poor kitten suffered."
The kitten was allegedly found in the Stuart Flats area on Captain Cook Crescent in Griffith.
It's not the first time staff at the Weston Creek shelter have had to deal with a cat found with severe injuries; a 10-week-old kitten abandoned in a nearby drain in February required a leg amputation.
In January, one of nine five-week-old puppies found in a box in north Canberra was so badly beaten it had to be put down.
