While there were less than 20 auctions held, only a few homes were passed in.
The highest reported sale of the day was for a stunning five-bedroom house in O'Connor featuring many desirable luxuries that sold for $1.225 million.
The house had both formal and informal living areas, a north-facing patio with a pergola with a sensor to protect it against sun or rain, acoustic and thermal insulation throughout and in-slab heating.
The house at 107 Miller Street is the third home in a week to sell for more than a million dollars in the suburb following the auctions of two other properties last Saturday.
LJ Hooker Dickson agent Michael Rabey said there had been five registered bidders for the house with a battle mainly between two parties.
He said bidding opened at $1 million and the house sold under the hammer for $1.225 million.
Mr Rabey said the strength of the sale and the number of people through open inspections showed there was nothing wrong with Canberra's market.
The auction was held indoors as Dickson remained foggy at the time.
Over in Belconnen, a four-bedroom house sold under the hammer for $605,000 as a small crowd gathered inside to get out of the chilly weather.
Bidding for the house at 3 Blythe Close in Kaleen started at $540,000 before a vendor bid of $575,000 was placed by Independent Property Group auctioneer Andrew Potts.
A second bid of $585,000 was made, which was later increased to $605,000 and the house sold under the hammer.
Agent Shaun Iqbal said the house had attracted strong interest during the auction campaign because it had been fully renovated and was in agood location.
He said interest in Kaleen had grown since the development of nearby Lawson had begun.
''Kaleen has become extremely popular because land in Lawson is so expensive,'' Mr Iqbal said.
He said as buyers saw how much people paid for a small block of land, they realised the value that was in a property in the established suburb next to it.
