The moderator of the station's Facebook page also had to remind users on Friday that it would not tolerate "bullying or bad language on this page" in the wake of comments about changes to the 104.7 lineup.
It was announced last week that popular announcer Scott Masters would leave 104.7, ending his successful on-air partnership with Nigel Johnson in the breakfast slot, and that Johnson would continue in a new breakfast show with former newsreader Kate "Knuckles" Rice.
The new show - Nige and Knuckles for Breakfast - was due to start on Monday but 104.7, initially without explanation, suggested on Facebook that the show would start on Thursday.
Facebook users starting posting that they thought the show was meant to start on Monday.
One post said: "I think something fishy is going on but we will never get the truth".
104.7 responded: "Nothing fishy going on at all, they simply needed more time to get organised".
Canberra FM's general manager Eoghan O'Byrne rejected any suggestion the delay might be related to the possibility of legal action against the station being pursued by Mr Masters.
"I don't even know anything about legal action," Mr O'Byrne said, on Friday.
Mr O'Byrne said the show just needed more time before it went to air at 6am on Thursday.
"Building a breakfast show can't be underestimated," he said. "There's a fair bit of work behind the scenes. We want it to be 100 per cent perfect before it goes to air."
Mr O'Byrne said he did not want the current presenters to bear the brunt of any listener displeasure about the changes, especially on social media.
"We appreciate everyone's feedback but there's no need for derogatory comments. We're an anti-bullying workplace and an anti-bullying society and we're promoting that," he said.
