Second Canberra $1 million lotto winner in less than a week

A second Canberran is $1 million richer less than a week after another resident claimed a first division prize-winning lotto ticket.

Gungahlin Centre News sold the winning $1 million Monday Lotto ticket.

The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, came forward to NSW Lotteries and claimed the first division prize on Tuesday.

The Canberra win comes five days after another resident claimed first prize in the Wednesday, December 3 Lotto draw.

Evatt Newsagency sold what was its third winning lottery ticket in six months last week.

Gungahlin Centre News owner Rudy Lu said he was ecstatic when he discovered his outlet had sold Monday's $1 million winning ticket.

"We're so excited for our customer who is now a millionaire," he said.

"We're really happy too because this is the first time we've sold a division one winning ticket since we bought the newsagency 18 months ago.

"We really want to back up now and sell another first division winning ticket."

Along with the ACT winner, the other winning Monday Lotto ticket was sold in Queensland.

The winning numbers in Monday Lotto draw 3406 on December 8 were 20, 34, 38, 44, 4 and 16 with the supplementary numbers of 13 and 29.
