While towns inundated by heavy rain in recent days were given a short reprieve on Friday afternoon and early this morning, a band of heavy rain is moving towards the ACT and southern region threatening to put further pressure on already swollen waterways.
So far the ACT Emergency Services Agency has received 591 calls for help since Tuesday afternoon.
The Bureau is reporting that a heavy band of rain is moving from inland NSW towards the ACT, with areas of heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms threatening to cause flash flooding in a number of areas over the remainder of the weekend.
Around three quarters of NSW is currently flood affected, with more than 3000 residents so far ordered to leave their homes, with further evacuation orders possible later today, depending on conditions.
