FOUR registered bidders battled for the right to call 83 Banambila Street, Aranda, home yesterday, with the four-bedroom property selling under the hammer for $830,000.

The auction attracted strong interest, with a crowd of about 80 people watching the bidders vie for the sale.
McGrath agent David Watson said bidding started at $750,000 and all bidders made an offer before the hammer went down at $830,000.
Mr Watson said the home had been hugely popular during the four-week marketing campaign, with 122 groups inspecting the property.
He said more than 12 groups requested copies of the contract before auction day.
Mr Watson said the result was proof the market was at the crossroads between buyers and sellers.
''Momentum is building which will spill into 2013, so I think we're in for some good times in the new year.
''The last 24 months, the buyers have had a wait-and-see approach, sitting on their hands because of the uncertainty.
''But with interest rates down and affordability at its best since 2007, buyers are feeling confident.''
Unfortunately the rest of the market did not fare as well, with only six of the 24 properties offered to the market selling under the hammer.
Mid-week auctions continued to attract strong interest, with LJ Hooker putting 11 properties for sale at Regatta Point last Wednesday.
LJ Hooker Kaleen director Tim Russell said the night attracted 32 bidders and about 100 people.
He said four properties sold on the night and a further two were under negotiation.
