In Harrison a two-car crash just before 8am closed the turning lane of Flemington Road into Well Station Drive and clogged traffic for around half an hour.
Minutes later, another two-car smash in Woden scattered debris across Hindmarsh Drive, blocking one eastbound lane near Tyagarah Street until the street sweepers arrived.
Southbound commuters on Gungahlin Drive experienced a slow-crawl towards Caswell Drive following a six-car pile-up at the Belconnen Way exit shortly before 8.20am.
One lane remained closed for two hours before tow trucks were able to move all of the vehicles off the road.
Meanwhile a three-car prang outside the British High Commission on Commonwealth Avenue at 9.20am didn't cause too much pain, with an ACT Policing spokeswoman reporting it had cleared up fairly rapidly.
No one was injured in any of the incidents.
