ACT Fire & Rescue were alerted when the fire from a malfunctioning battery triggered an automatic fire alarm at 10:35am.
A small electrical fire prompted an evacuation at the University of Canberra campus in Bruce.

The building on University Drive in Bruce was evacuated, with crews quickly extinguishing the fire and removing the damaged battery.
Firefighters were currently conducting atmospheric testing but occupants were expected to be allowed back inside shortly.
