Emergency services say there is no bushfire threat in the ACT, though the forecast fire-danger rating for the ACT tomorrow is "very high".

More than 2000 firefighters spent the day battling at least 19 significant fires across Victoria. At least nine properties have been destroyed.

As of 7pm, there were seven "watch and act" alerts for out-of-control fires across the state, mostly in Gippsland.
