If they're in the latter category, get ready for a very special dogs day out.

Corin Forest is holding its very first Snow Dogs event on Saturday and Sunday, September 9 and 10.

"We get so many requests from people all over asking to bring their dogs to the snow, so we thought we'd make a weekend out of it and invite everyone and their four-legged friends," a spokeswoman said.

"We've had a few dogs up here this season and they have absolutely loved it. It's a new sensation for the dogs and it's hilarious to watch."

For that one weekend only, Corin Forest will invite "snowman's best friends" for the chance to discover the wonders of the snow in its very popular Snowplay sessions.

By purchasing any Snowplay session on September 9 and 10, guests will be allowed to bring their dogs for free, allowing their pet to experience the sensation of snow.

Corin Forest owner Dane Liepins reckons the pooches will love the white stuff.

"When it comes to snow, dogs might be a bit like us. The snow is exciting to adults and kids alike, so why shouldn't it be just as exciting for dogs?" he said.

"Snow changes the sensory characteristics of everything it touches, so it can often renew a dog's interest in the outdoors.

"With fresh odours, novel tactile experiences and unusual outlines, what's not to love?"

There will be a limit on numbers - 250 per session, with three sessions each day – 8:30am, 11am and 2pm. Each day finishes at 5.30pm.

The plan is to make Snow Dogs an annual event.
