For children in Canberra, summer means playing outdoors in the sun and staying out that little bit longer thanks to daylight saving.
Harvey Burdett, 5, and his three-year-old sister Stella were captured in action by their mother Vanessa Burdett at Yerrabi Pond in Gungahlin, with a beautiful sunset behind them.
The entry - titled Summer Superheroes - shows the siblings dressed in costumes, making the most of daylight saving while adventuring through the play area.
Mrs Burdett said she always had her camera on hand and would take pictures of her children at any opportunity she could get.
"The kids wanted to play ninjas and fairies so we went down to the pond where they could run around and play and I could capture a summery photo of them together."
Fascinating snaps taken during thunderstorms with powerful images of lightning have also been popular in this season's entries.
Captured on a stormy night in Hall, Matthew Minson's image of a lightning strike over the region highlights not only the sky but also a picturesque landscape in the ACT.
The photo was captured facing toward Dunlop during a summer evening thunderstorm in January.
