A man has stolen a sum of cash after robbing a supermarket worker at knifepoint in Bonython on Tuesday.

ACT Policing were called to the supermarket after reports of an aggravated robbery involving an armed man just after 7pm.

It’s alleged the man approached the counter, threatened an employee with a knife and demanded money. He escaped with a small sum of cash, leaving the store and running towards a nearby apartment complex.

The man is described as 183cm tall with a muscular build. He was wearing a green coloured top and grey pant, while his head and mouth was covered with a dark cloth.

ACT Policing is seeking information from the public, particularly the two men who left the store moments prior to the robbery. Police believe they may have seen something which could assist with the investigation.
