The Canberra Hospital was also awarded a prize in the public-sector category of this year's Australian Defence Reserves Support Council's employer support awards.
The awards were presented in Anzac Hall at the Australian War Memorial and are designed to give employers formal recognition of their contribution to Defence reservists in their workplaces.
Erindale Pharmacy took home a private-sector, small-business award after being nominated by an employee, sapper Luke Peacock, who works as a combat engineer in the Army Reserve.
Two ACT not-for-profit organisations were also recognised. Focus ACT received a private-sector, medium-business award and Communities@Work took a private-sector, large-business award.
Focus ACT was nominated by Private Bernardo Benedictos, who works as a driver in the reserves and a disability support worker in his civilian life.
Defence Reserves Support Council chair Jack Smorgon, AO, said the awards were an excellent vehicle to recognise the support and commitment provided to reservists by their employers.
"It's no easy thing in today's competitive employment environment to release reservists for defence service, but many public-sector and private-sector organisations in our region work hard to do just that," he said.
