Teenage girls attacked by group in school uniforms at Belconnen Mall

Two teenage girls were attacked by a group of youths at Belconnen Mall on Friday.

Police said the girls were assaulted by five people outside a cafe near the Lathlain Street entrance to the shopping centre about 3pm.

The attack left the pair with multiple injuries.

Three offenders were female, two were male and some were allegedly wearing school uniforms. 

One of the female offenders is described as 14 years old, tall and thin, with straight, blonde hair. She was wearing black pants and a black top with white runners.

One of the male offenders is described as 17 years old, of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance and of a heavy build.

Police are urging anyone with information or images of the assault to contact police on 131444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference number 6186595.
