Every Canberra homeowner will be able to put their hand up for a green bin a year earlier than expected in an accelerated rollout of the ACT's new garden waste kerbside collection.

From mid-2019, the option to have a green bin will be extended to any Canberra resident, after a staged trial.
More than 8000 homes in Weston Creek and Kambah signed up for a green bin during the pilot phase of the program.
City services minister Meegan Fitzharris described the pilot as a "big success".
Tuggeranong residents are the next to be able to sign up for one of the bins.
Starting on November 27, residents of Banks, Bonython, Calwell, Chisholm, Conder, Fadden, Gilmore, Gordon, Gowrie, Greenway, Isabella Plains, Macarthur, Monash, Oxley, Richardson, Theodore, Wanniassa and Tharwa can opt in to receive one.
The first bins will arrive in January with the first collection to happen in the following weeks.
Belconnen will be the next region to be able to sign up for a green bin from September 2018, with the option open to everyone from mid-2019.
Residents who sign up will have to pay a one-off registration fee.
Concession cardholders are exempt from the payment.
Corkhill Bros hold a $2 million contract to provide the current pick-up service in Kambah and Weston Creek and Ms Fitzharris said they would also collect the Tuggeranong bins.
The government paid Mastec Australia $454,000 to supply the green bins.
