A Canberra man threatened to kill his sister and send a bomb to her home after getting into an argument with her partner, police have told a court.

Benjamin Fernandez, 21, of Dunlop used Facebook Messenger on June 7 to send his sister several messages over an hour abusing and threatening her, it is alleged.
One of the messages read: "I know where you live now. I'm actually going to kill you ... I promise there's a bomb coming to your house tonight", police said.
Later when police were arresting him, he told them: "Whatever, when I get out I will go and kill her", according to documents tendered to the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Mr Fernandez, who is yet to enter pleas to a charge of using a carriage service to menace or harass, and another charge of recklessly threatening to kill someone, cried while listening to his messages read out in court.
Magistrate Beth Campbell granted him bail but told him he would go back into custody if he left his home between 6pm and 6am without his father, or went near his sister's home or workplace.
"Is this not what you expected when you said those things to the police?" she said to a tearful Mr Fernandez.
He said he had a "love-hate" relationship with his sister, that he was a "depressed person" and didn't mean his threats.
His father John in giving evidence said Mr Fernandez loved his sister, a claim Magistrate Campbell rejected.
"No he doesn't, that's not love. None of that is love," she said.
Police say Mr Fernandez had an argument at 1pm on June 7 with his sister's partner near Kippax Fair shopping centre, and threw drink cans at the man's car.
Mr Fernandez's sister later sent a message to her brother telling him to stop after her partner complained about his actions, but the 21-year-old replied with the threatening messages, it is alleged.
She was alarmed when he told her he knew where she lived, because she hadn't given her address to her family, according to police.
Prosecutors opposed Mr Fernandez's bail, saying there was a risk he might intimidate the victim.
His relationship with her had recently been strained because he didn't approve of her relationship with her partner, the court heard.
Magistrate Campbell adjourned the case until June 20.
