Police report 20 businesses and homes were targeted between March 17 and 19, six of which occurred in the Fyshwick area where electronics and cash were targeted.
A police spokesperson said 14 motor vehicles had also been targeted.
The spokesperson said $9000 worth of tools had been stolen from a ute in Richardson between 8am and 10am on Tuesday morning.
Around the same time, $3000 of equipment had been stolen from a ute in Monash.
Thieves in the city had broken into three vehicles targeting sporting equipment and computers.
Crime Reduction Sergeant Daryl Neit urged people to be careful to reduce the chance they became a victim.
“I would urge members of the public to ensure that their vehicles are locked and all valuables are removed from the vehicle to prevent opportunistic crime,” he said.
