Authorities have also revealed there were no signs of a struggle or forced entry at his Lyneham home, and say burglary or robbery does not appear to be a motive at this stage.

Investigators say they believe Mr Sofer-Schreiber, 27, was living alone at the time of the murder, and are contacting past housemates as part of their investigation.

Mr Sofer-Schreiber, who was legally blind and orphaned, was found dead with multiple stab wounds to his body at his unit on Hall Street, just next to the Lyneham shops, last Saturday afternoon.

Friends found his body and gained entry to the home.

Paramedics and police arrived soon after.

The avid punk rock fan, known as a fixture of the local music scene, was not thought to have been seen since Boxing Day.

His death has shocked his many friends and those in the Australian and international punk scenes.

Tributes continued to flow from friends, acquaintances and extended family on social media on Friday.

The investigation into the murder entered its seventh day on Saturday. Police have not revealed whether they have found a weapon, but say they are continuing with a number of lines of inquiry.

''This includes speaking to a number of persons of interest who have been identified through the investigative process,'' a police spokesman said.

Mr Sofer-Schreiber, affectionately known as the ''ginger ninja'', was typically seen at every punk show in Canberra, and regularly up in Sydney. Friends have remembered him as ''unique, loveable, kind-hearted'' and as ''everyone's designated little brother''.

There are plans to establish an annual music festival in his memory, named ''The Ginger Ninja's Annual Punk Rock Festival''.

His friends have been asked to donate money to that cause, rather than sending flowers.

Close friend Greg Haddock said on Thursday that Mr Sofer-Schreiber would not be forgotten. ''Nicky, ginger ninja, will forever be remembered amongst us for simply being Nicky,'' Mr Haddock said.

''A truly unique individual. A ginger snowflake.''

A Facebook tribute page is continuing to attract posts of commemoration, and had reached 907 likes by Friday evening.

His funeral is expected to be held next week, and his wake will be held at the George Harcourt Inn in Nicholls.

Police are continuing to investigate the murder and no charges had been laid on Friday.

ACT Policing has asked for anyone with any information on the case to come forward, and were also seeking those who had been in contact with Mr Sofer-Schreiber. They have been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the website.
