Stanislav Stashevskyi, the charge d'affaires at the consular section of the Ukrainian Embassy in Marcus Clarke Street, said the normal flow of information from the Ukrainian government to its embassies abroad had not been interrupted by the violence of recent weeks and that the best possible quality of information was being provided to the Australian government.
This is in addition to the vast amount of online and broadcast media coverage of the events which are also being closely followed by embassy staff.
Mr Stashevskyi welcomed the return of peace to the streets of Kiev and said there had been no suggestion of possible changes to the composition of the local diplomatic mission.
Ukraine's acting minister of foreign affairs, Leonid Kozhara, was ''released'' from the post on Sunday.
''All of the diplomatic mission will continue to act as before, Ukraine's diplomatic relations remain unchanged all over the world and in Australia,'' Mr Stashevskyi said.
Russian-backed President Viktor Yanukovych, who fled Kiev on the weekend vowing he would never resign the presidency, was stripped of his office by the parliament.
People with relatives or friends in Ukraine and who are concerned about their safety can contact the consular mission either by phone on 02 6230 5789 or by email on emb_au@mfa.gov.ua
