An unlicensed driver has allegedly been caught doing 174km per hour on the Hume Highway near Yass in the early hours of Friday morning.

A 23-year-old man was stopped by NSW Police at about 12.45am at Bowning, allegedly going 64km per hour over the speed limit in a 110 km per hour zone.
He was fined for exceeding the speed limit by over 45km per hour and not carrying licence.
It comes as a man allegedly led police on a chase through Tuggeranong in the ACT to avoid a breath test, before crashing into a curb and blowing more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit.
ACT Policing have joined forces with NSW Police for Operation Crossroads over the Easter long weekend.
The operation will target dangerous driving, drink and drug driving, speeding, fatigue and seatbelts across the region around Canberra.
In NSW there have already been two deaths on the roads since Thursday, since the state’s police began their own Operation Tortoise.
A man died after his car crashed near Newcastle on the NSW coast, and a pedestrian was killed at Coledale south of Sydney.
There have been no deaths on ACT roads since the beginning of the long weekend.
