The ACT's work safety watchdog last week issued an improvement notice on the education directorate for the breaches of workplace laws.
The notice was cancelled on Wednesday after WorkSafe ACT determined the directorate had addressed the risks around the administration of student medication in schools.
It is the second time this year that WorkSafe has slapped an improvement notice on the education directorate, with the first issued in March after ongoing issues of occupation violence against teachers at a southside high school.
WorkSafe said the latest improvement notice had been issued last Friday to "ensure all relevant staff have appropriate training and policies are adhered to".
The notice - which had been on display at the directorate's Northbourne headquarters - said the contravention involved "untrained and unqualified staff member administering insulin to students exposing persons to risk of serious harm".
A WorkSafe ACT spokesperson said it had been made aware of the situation at the public school and acted because the practice had been "inconsistent with the education directorate's policies and procedures.
"WorkSafe will require documentation from the Education Directorate demonstrating compliance with provision of training in accordance with their policies," a spokesperson said.
A deadline of October had been set to remedy the infringement, but it was cancelled on Wednesday afternoon.
WorkSafe said the cancellation had occurred as the watchdog had been "satisfied that the risks identified with the safe administration of student medication in a school have been adequately addressed by the directorate".
"This includes having records in place of suitably trained staff and/or documentation for those students self-administrating their medication under staff supervision.
"WorkSafe ACT and the directorate are committed to supporting the safety of students and staff in public schools and this focus will continue."
ACT education directorate director general Natalie Howson confirmed the government's commitment to supporting the safety of students and staff in public schools.
"[We] will continue to work ... on this focus," Ms Howson said.
WorkSafe has issued more than 12 improvement notices to ACT government directorates or agencies during the past five years.
Reasons can include electrical faults, dangerous incidents, or bullying and harassment.
Before the recent two infringements, schools had only been issued with one other notice during that period, which related to a safety-operating procedure for a power tool in 2015.
In March, the watchdog issued a notice in relation to staff safety.
Police attended a southside school after a Tuggeranong student allegedly threatened a teacher and destroyed school property in February.
The notice was issued after a WorkSafe ACT investigation into the incident found the directorate failed to provide and maintain a safe and risk-free work environment, which contributed to the incident.
The notice criticised the risk management system as student focused "with insufficient controls to manage the risks to staff and other persons of being subjected to occupational violence".
In May, WorkSafe withdrew the improvement notice after was satisfied risk had been addressed.
In July, the new occupational violence policy and management plan to provide staff with the skills, support, resources and culture required to ensure staff safety at work.
