Police arrested a man after the black ute he was driving and the police car collided about 11am.
According to police two officers were in a marked police car on routine patrol on Deamer Crescent when they noticed the ute with no number plates.
They turned on their emergency lights and sirens indicating for the driver to stop.
Instead he accelerated a short distance, losing control of the ute.
The ute spun around onto the wrong side of the road before accelerating into the police car.
The driver of the police car was taken, as a precaution, to the Canberra Hospital with head injuries, while the driver of the ute was unharmed.
The other driver was arrested and is expected to be charged with traffic offences.
