ACT Policing said a Canberra Cabs Ford station wagon was traveling south along Adelaide Avenue about 5.20pm, and was being followed by a green Mitsubishi Triton utility.

The utility hit the rear of the station wagon, causing significant damage to the vehicle.

The driver of the utility fled the scene, failing to provide information to the other driver.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the website.
