The Weston Creek Community Centre is unsure of how to combat the tagging and vandalism of a mural created by the community after the 2003 bushfires.

Community centre manager Yung Tran said for many years it had remained undamaged but now several tags covered the mural.
He said it would be a shame paint over the facade but was anxious that hasty or improper repairs may detract from its integrity.
"We are trying to hang on to it," he said. "I believe it needs specialised help."
An ACT Territory and Municipal Services spokesman said the mural at Cooleman Court, being a privately owned asset, was not a TAMS responsibility.
"TAMS do however work with lessees to identify sites for street art and provide advice on removal techniques," the spokesman said.
Communities@Work CEO Lynne Harwood said her organisation facilitated the initial community project but had no responsibility for ongoing maintenance.
Now the mural was vandalised she said the options to paint it over, fix it, or create a new mural should be put to the community for discussion.
Weston Creek Community Council chairman Tom Anderson said the mural held historical significance for the suburb.
"This is one that needs to be repaired rather than given another interpretation," he said. "It's one of the few things around Weston Creek that captures its history at a certain time."
