A former street preacher who paralysed a victim in a frenzied stabbing attack has lost a case against a prison mental health worker he accused of pretending to be a relationship counsellor during a jailhouse interview.

It is the second time Isa Islam has launched civil action for supposed failings at the ACT prison recently, having lost a case against the jail in February that alleged his lack of prison-based employment was a human rights breach.
Islam was sentenced to nine years for a 2009 stabbing attack that left a man partially paralysed and reliant on a wheelchair.
The prisoner was sentenced to another six years for a violent prison assault that put a fellow inmate in hospital.
The victim of that assault was bashed so badly his nose was pushed back into his skull and he was in hospital for four weeks - including five days intubated in intensive care. The inmate required reconstructive surgery to fix the facial fractures.
The earliest he can be released is 2019.
Islam appeared in the ACT Supreme Court on Wednesday morning for a civil hearing against a psychologist employed by ACT Corrective Services.
He claims he was misled that the worker was from Relationships Australia, rather than corrections.
Islam told the court he fears the information gained during the interview may be used against him adversely, either in parole hearings, or if he attempts to change his security classification or accommodation at the prison.
He sought an order preventing the information gained during the interview from being used in any way.
But Master David Mossop dismissed the case on Wednesday afternoon, finding the worker had not attempted to mislead Islam.
Master Mossop instead found that Islam had two appointments that day; one with Relationships Australia, which he refused to go to, and another with the psychologist, which he participated in reluctantly.
Islam himself conceded in evidence that he knew the pyschologist he was talking to wasn't from Relationships Australia.
Master Mossop said neither the facts of the case nor the law gave Islam any cause of action entitling him to the relief sought.
Earlier on Wednesday, the prisoner attempted to amend his case to have the court formally discipline the psychologist for professional misconduct.
That was refused by Master Mossop, who said the ACT Supreme Court did not have power to make such findings.
The court heard the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency had looked at the complaint and found it to be "frivolous".
Islam, representing himself, questioned two corrections officers about the day of the interview with the mental health worker in May last year.
He asked one guard whether he remembered telling him that he was wanted for an interview with Relationships Australia in the programs section of the prison.
The guard said he didn't recall, prompting Islam to remind him of his oath.
Islam accused the guard of not being "entirely honest".
Master Mossop found both guards to be "impressive witnesses" and said they gave evidence honestly.
He found Islam's recollection of events may have been affected by his distrust of prison management.
He said the prison had breached its human rights obligations.
Master Mossop found there was no such requirement, and that there was no human rights breach.
