The answers to these, and a host of other questions, are now as close as your iPad, thanks to VisitCanberra.
This year's capital region visitors' guide is the first to be made available using an iPad app from the App Store.
Based on the annual hardcopy guide, the downloadable app has many advantages, a VisitCanberra spokesman said.
''The iPad app features extra content in the form of videos, feature articles and images and includes website links to key products,'' he said.
''And all of the content is stored on your device for instant retrieval.''
A big plus is that unlike the annual guide which, not unsurprisingly, is updated only annually, the app will be much more current.
''The iPad edition will be updated up to three times in 2014 with more detailed seasonal event information,'' the spokesman said.
''It is yet another way for promoting the wide range of experiences in the capital and connecting with consumers who research and plan their holidays using digital tools.''
The app will follow the general template of the hardcopy guide, which can already be downloaded onto a desktop or laptop computer, with specific sections for arts and cultures, families, the outdoors, Canberra's secrets, sports, indigenous culture and heritage, food, wine, nightlife events, shopping, the hinterland and where to stay.
The app is also expected to prove popular with Canberra residents who will find it handy to have a comprehensive guide to their city a swipe away.
To download the free app, you can find it in the App Store.
