Team members will fly in from all over Australia to join the Boyes family in its attempt to raise $1500 for breast cancer research.
Mother-of-two Jackie Boyes, who started walking the event the year after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, said about 25 people were expected to be part of the team.
''I started doing the classic in 2010 and I was just out of bed and trying to get around the lake,'' she said.
''A lot of my old friends from high school organised with my husband to surprise me the first year by coming to the front door and joining me on the walk.
''Now they come every year.''
Mrs Boyes, who does the walk with sons Michael, 15, Liam, 13, and husband Rob, said she was diagnosed with cancer when she was 38.
She had a mastectomy on her left side, chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
It turned out to be the beginning of a long journey with cancer.
She has since had her ovaries removed due to large cysts being discovered on them and last year in April a melanoma was found on her back. It was successfully removed.
However, later scans revealed cancer in her hips, spine, pelvis and ribs.
Mrs Boyes is having chemotherapy.
Despite the difficulties, Mrs Boyes still counts herself lucky.
''The gorgeous John Buckingham was my surgeon,'' she said. ''He got pancreatic cancer and passed away in 2011.
''He was a wonderful doctor and a lot of the information and advice he gave me still helps me today.
''I really do consider myself very lucky,'' he said. ''There are a lot of people worse off than I am.''
