ACT Fire & Rescue said it was called to the fire in Sangster Place at 11.52pm and sent three fire trucks, breathing apparatus support, a hazmat unit, the Bronto aerial platform and a commander.
"Firefighters were able to contain the electrical fire to its room of origin and prevented it spreading to the rest of the building," they said in a statement.
"Initial estimates put the damage bill at approximately 50 thousand dollars."
