The ACT Motorcycle Riders Association held its annual blanket run at Old Parliament House on Saturday. While the weather kept numbers down, the group still managed to collect a large amount of non-perishable foods, as well as about 60 blankets, 40 jackets and $1500 for the Salvation Army. It was the first year the MRA had called for donations of second-hand motorcycle jackets. Event spokeswoman Trish Holdsworth said the group was impressed by the response. The MRA is the representative body of the motorcycling community of the ACT, providing views and concerns to the government and participating in decision making.
