Police seized nine firearms, tear gas and drugs in raids on four north Canberra homes on Thursday morning.

Police conducted the raids on homes in Kaleen, Evatt, Melba and Forde around 7am on Thursday morning.
At the Kaleen home, police seized five firearms including a 12-gauge double barrel shotgun, a .22 calibre and 410 gauge rifle and shotgun, a .177 calibre pellet rifle, a bolt action .22 calibre rifle, and a bolt action .243 calibre rifle.
Police are now looking into whether the gun registrations were legal.
Three other rifles and a shotgun were also seized at the Kaleen home as police said they were not stored legally.
In the raid of the Forde home, police seized a canister of CS gas (tear gas), a magazine for a .22 rifle and a small quantity of suspected illegal drugs.
Police did not say whether any items were seized at the Evatt and Melba home raids.
