Named Henry Rolland Park after the city's former resident architect, the revamped space includes a 150-metre boardwalk, lawn areas, picnic and barbecue facilities, exercise equipment and thousands of plants.
The park replaces the stretch along the lake which formerly housed the Westside shipping container village and food vans.
Henry Rolland Park opens to the public on Saturday, April 28 with a day of live music, games, activities, and food from 10am-4pm, and entry is free.
If you're heading along and driving, there's parking available nearby, adjacent to Barrine Drive and Commonwealth Avenue, or there are bus stops on Commonwealth Avenue at Regatta Point.
