A young female passenger suffered critical injuries when a maxi taxi crashed into a car, veered off the road, and smashed into a light pole late Saturday night.

The taxi, a silver Toyota Hiace, was travelling west towards the intersection of Morshead and Russell Drives in Barton about 11pm.
The car and a white Ford Falcon sedan collided, sending the taxi veering from the road and over a traffic island in the middle of the road.
The van left the street, and crashed into a light pole.
A 24-year-old passenger of the taxi suffered critical injuries in the crash.
She was taken to Canberra Hospital, and remained there on Sunday morning.
Police are now seeking witnesses to the crash.
