A woman has been arrested for driving more than six times over the legal alcohol limit with her one-year-old child in the car at the time, NSW Police say.
The 32-year-old woman was stopped by police on the Kings Highway on Sunday afternoon while trying to start up her car at a sporting oval in Bungendore.
A number of motorists driving on the highway had seen the woman travelling along the busy road and contacted police.
The road was inundated with traffic from the coast at the time.
When police arrived, they found the woman's child in a rear seat, unrestrained.
After a roadside breath test returned a positive reading, the woman was arrested and taken to Bungendore Police Station, where breath analysis revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.312.
The woman will appear in Queanbeyan Local Court on March 14 charged with high range drink-driving.
