ACT Fire & Rescue were called to a fire at a one-bedroom flat in Belconnen at 4.39am.

Multiple units responded and found a mattress alight. A small fire was quickly extinguished.

Crews reported severe smoke damage inside the flat. Neighbouring properties were not affected.
