Motorists were forced to veer out of the way as an ACT registered car was driven the wrong direction along the Hume Highway near Goulburn on Sunday.

Police from the Goulburn Local Area Command responded to a number of reports that an ACT registered Subaru wagon was travelling south at high speed in the northbound lanes of the Hume Highway shortly before 8am.
Motorists were reportedly forced to veer out of the way of the oncoming car and flashed their lights in an effort to alert the male driver.
Three police cars responded, attempting to intercept the car before locating it at Boxers Creek after it was stopped by another motorist. Investigators were told the member of the public tried for 20kms to get the driver to stop.
Police attempted to speak with the 59-year-old man, who was visibly unwell and confused, and arranged for the man’s next of kin to meet him at Goulburn Police Station.
He was later issued with a court attendance notice for driving in a manner dangerous, and had his licence suspended until December 16. Officers will seek to question the fitness of the man to retain his driving privileges.
He will appear at Goulburn Local Court on December 12.
In other police news, A man was in Canberra Hospital after an alleged assault in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called to the scene where they discovered the victim unconscious on the corner of East Row and London Circuit around 4.15am.
The victim received serious head injuries and was rushed to Canberra Hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses and are ‘‘investigating possible vision’’ from CCTV and other cameras a spokesman said.
