The top eight’s revolving door continued on Sunday.

This time, Collingwood have made way for Adelaide.

The Magpies could not have been more disappointing in their match against West Coast.

After staying with the Eagles for the first half, they were blown away in the second as the hosts piled on 10 goals to three in the final two quarters.

For a side that was playing to not only retain their spot in the top eight but go up to seventh spot, that really was a pitiful performance from the Magpies who eventually lost by 60 points.

Conversely, the Crows didn’t need a second invitation to re-enter the top eight.

They absolutely obliterated a deplorable Lions outfit by 105 points which was Brisbane’s biggest ever defeat at the Gabba.

Adelaide catapulted themselves from 10th up to seventh position to be the very big winners from Sunday’s AFL action.

Incredibly, West Coat’s comprehensive win over Collingwood means they have come out of nowhere to be in finals calculations again!

The Eagles are just a game outside the top eight which really is amazing given how badly they’ve travelled for most of the season.

Today’s results ensure that next weekend’s games between Essendon (8th) and West Coast (11th) & Adelaide (7th) and Richmond (12th) – who are also a game outside the top eight – are all of a sudden massive engagements!

    Q4 31 MIN, WC 126 COLL 66

Darling takes a strong chest mark in front of Goldsack.

From 30m out on a 40-degree angle, Darling's set shot is ugly and goes off the side of his boot.

But the siren sounds and the Eagles win by 10 goals!

They are amazingly back in finals calculations!

    Q4 29 MIN, WC 125 COLL 66

Sheed runs to 35m out but his left-footed attempt misses to the right

    Q4 29 MIN, WC 124 COLL 66

The life well and truly sucked out of this one. It's petering out now.

    Q4 26 MIN, WC 124 COLL 66

Beams is dragged to ground by Butler 20m out from Collingwood's goal

    Q4 24 MIN, WC 124 COLL 66

The game has been halted because an idiotic Collingwood supporter has run onto the field.

He is eventually apprehended by security and can expect a huge fine too.

    Q4 21 MIN, WC 124 COLL 65

Beams' shot on goal from 30m out deep in the pocket looks like it squeezes through.

But the score review denies a thoroughly deserved goal for Beams, he has been tireless today.

    Q4 21 MIN, WC 124 COLL 64

    Leading disposals: Priddis 39, Beams 34, Sidebottom 32, Gaff 32, Shuey 30, Pendlebury 30

    Q4 19 MIN, WC 124 COLL 64

Cloke runs onto the loose ball and streams into the open goal. That's his first.

Perhaps he made the most of the fact that his direct opponent Mackenzie is off the ground under the blood rule

    Q4 18 MIN, WC 124 COLL 58

Unsurprisingly, West Coast smashing Collingwood in disposals (379-320)

    Q4 17 MIN, WC 124 COLL 58

Frost and Toovey gang-tackle Darling, and we'll have a ball up 25m out from West Coast's goal.

Priddis takes the clearance with galling ease and snaps it home!

    The embarrassment continues for Collingwood.

    Q4 15 MIN, WC 118 COLL 58

Josh Kennedy attacks the ball hard as he tries to take the mark and takes out Goldsack in the process.

The Magpie is slow to get to his feet to put it mildly!

    Q4 14 MIN, WC 118 COLL 58

Naitanui flies high for the mark, he is unsuccessful, but Darling collects the crumbs and dribbles through his third goal for the quarter! He now has four for the match.

    Q4 11 MIN, WC 112 COLL 58

Frost walks the ball over the boundary line for a throw-in 15m around from West Coast's goal

    Q4 7 MIN, WC 112 COLL 58

Gaff sends a long ball forward to Darling who is awarded the free kick for having his arm chopped by Toovey.

From 20m out on a 40-degree angle, Darling kicks his third major.

And the pain continues for Collingwood.

    Q4 6 MIN, WC 106 COLL 58

How about Priddis' numbers? 35 disposals (19 contested), 10 clearances and seven tackles

    Q4 3 MIN, WC 106 COLL 58

Blair pushes Darling in the back and gives away the free kick.

From 20m out directly in front, the big Eagle joins Kennedy, Naitanui and Lycett as multiple goal kickers for West Coast

    Q4 0 MIN, WC 100 COLL 58

Elliott gives Collingwood the ideal start to the final quarter after evading Shuey and converting from 40m out after just 25 seconds.

West Coast well on top in clearances (37-29), contested possessions (110-97) and inside 50s (41-34)

    Q3 28 MIN, WC 100 COLL 52

Reid's centring kick from the boundary line is a bullet but Ben Kennedy snaffles it under duress from Bennell!

That is fantastic stuff from the youngster.

From 15m out, he pops his set shot through and ends a run of six goals in a row from the Eagles.

    Q3 24 MIN, WC 100 COLL 46

Fasolo's handball is intercepted, Cox collects the loose ball and snaps truly from 35m out!

And don't the fans love it! That might be his last goal at the ground!

That's six goals in a row now for West Coast.

    Adelaide: B.Crouch 8, Lynch 8, Lyons 8, Sloane 8

What a cracking first quarter that was!

No fewer than 10 goals were scored and if that rate continues, we are in for one memorable match.

The Lions started the game full of beans, they took ownership of the centre corridor and were rewarded with three of the first four goals and an 11-point lead.

It looked as though the Crows hadn’t come to play and were possibly headed for another devastating loss given how much is at stake for them today.

A win for Adelaide will see them re-enter the top eight.

And it appeared that fact finally sunk in midway through the first term as the Crows woke up to pile on five of the last six goals and take a comfortable 15-point lead at the first change.

Adelaide have been great at the stoppages with more clearances (14-8) and at the clinches with more contested possessions (44-32) and tackles (19-17).

All of that has seen the Crows also get on top in inside 50s (16-13) and with more attacking threats than the Lions, if that trend continues Brisbane will find it hard to register a win today.

    Q1 32 MIN, BL 24 ADEL 39

    Q1 16 MIN, BL 18 ADEL 7

Worrying signs for Adelaide, they are giving Brisbane too much latitude up the middle.

    Q1 13 MIN, BL 12 ADEL 7

Taylor chips it to Rockliff whose short pass to Crisp is superb.

Adelaide coach Brenton Sanderson has just given the AFL a bit of a clip on Fox Footy!

He questioned how much they care about player safety given it's such a hot day up in Brisbane yet interchanges haven't been increased from 120 and the quarter-by-quarter breaks haven't been made longer.

The expected max in Brisbane today is 24C.

Congratulations to Jonathan Freeman who makes his debut today. He received his jumper from one of the club's all-time greats Simon Black.

And the Lions will be very happy that Scott Thompson is out injured with a hamstring.

In his last four games against the Lions, Thompson has averaged 34.3 disposals, 15 contested possessions and 8.5 clearances!

Incredibly, this is the first time Adelaide and the Brisbane Lions have played each other in 491 days!

The last time they met was in Round 2 last year.

The Lions are aiming for three wins a row for the first time in over a year but the Crows have everything to play for.

Thanks to defeats inflicted on Essendon and Gold Coast, if Adelaide beat Brisbane they will re-enter the top eight.

There are no late changes at the Gabba.

Paparone (Lions) and Grigg (Crows) are the starting subs.

Welcome to another huge edition of AFL Express!

We have two matches that will affect the lower reaches of the top eight and another game that pays tribute to a modern-day legend.

So the next seven hours promise to provide non-stop action!

Our first stop is the Gabba where the plucky Brisbane Lions host Adelaide.

At 3.20pm (AEST), St Kilda take on the Western Bulldogs in a match that will serve as a celebration of retiring champion Lenny Hayes.

And the twilight fixture is an intriguing battle between the resurgent Eagles and eighth-placed Magpies at Patersons Stadium.

    • Pies absolutely pathetic. If Eddie is serious about wanting pies to win flags then he needs to approach Bomber Thompson to coach next year. Bucks is useless and has taken a premiership team and made them his own team and has only ever gone backwards. He needs to end his love affair with bucks sooner rather than later

      • Wear the fox hat. Can't see them beating Swans but hey strange things can happen. If I supported Tiges I'd be thinking our best 22 can get us to Finals and be hoping they Recruit another quality Ruck pre season and find one or two handy players to add depth to cover injuries. Tiges look much better with big Maric back
