Franklin takes a juggling mark after a pass from Parker.
Buddy kicks the 40m set shot goal!
It's so different to his previous displays against Geelong you'd suggest it's been better than any he had with Hawthorn, and there's still a quarter to go.

Sydney try to clear defensive 50m but Derickx cuts it off just inside the arc.
He goes back and tries his luck from a set shot...it's good!
This has been a lacklustre game.

Goodes rips the ball free from a stoppage, runs 15m to 15m out and kicks a goal!

Jared Rivers remembering what it was like when he played with the Demons - ball keeps coming in #AFLSwansCats — SakisC (@sakisc) May 29, 2014
Is Derickx proof ruckmen are in fact overrated? Was an E-grader at Richmond & might win a flag just by standing on the field. #AFLSwansCats — Sebastian Spagnuolo (@Seb_Spagnuolo) May 29, 2014
Q2 22.30 - SYD 7.7 (49) GEE 1.3 (9)
Jetta starting to work his way into the game and use his run.

Another run off half back comes to little after he went for a short handball.
But it's another good sign for Sydney.
Another long kick to Tippett...this one spoiled by Rivers...straight into the path of Goodes!
He roves and goals from 30m out!
Q2 17.45 - SYD 6.7 (43) GEE 1.3 (9)

That was unexpected! Maybe a kick-start for Geelong.
Q2 14.30 - SYD 6.7 (43) GEE 0.3 (3)
Tippett marks leading up 55m out on the flank...he looks inboard and finds an unguarded Nick Smith.
Smith plays on and shoots for goal but hangs it wide left for a point.
Q2 13.15 - SYD 6.6 (42) GEE 0.3 (3)
Sydney go end-to-end through the corridor and cut the Cats open.

Q2 8.45 - SYD 6.5 (41) GEE 0.3 (3)
Goodes hands off to Franklin who is standing on the paint of 50m.
Franklin winds up on the left but can't bring it back enough left-to-right and it hits the point-side of the post.
Same game 2012 Cats went helter skelter & got 7 goals down, slowed it up and hit the front. Might be time for a repeat guys. #AFLSwansCats — Rohan Connolly (@rohan_connolly) May 29, 2014
Q2 6.00 - SYD 6.4 (40) GEE 0.3 (3)

Q2 4:00 - SYD 6.4 (40) GEE 0.3 (3)
Tippett with a long goal! Sydney now out by 37.
This Swans team, albeit without Tippett at the time, lost to GWS in round 1. Feels like a while ago now!

How do you improve on 14 possies in the first quarter? Kick a goal within 40 seconds of the second.
Bird snaps a major from the forward pocket after Sydney won the clearance.
Varcoe fumbled after failing to usher the ball out of bounds, leaving the ball for Jack to hand off to Bird.
Swans. All over it. Twin towers looking like a one-two that can't be topped. As you'd expect for $2m per season #AFLSwansCats — Sebastian Hassett (@sebth) May 29, 2014
QTR TIME - SYD 4.4 (28) GEE 0.3 (3)
Sydney dominated in the forward 50m arc and only poor kicking has denied them a bigger lead.

Craig Bird has collected 14 possessions while Nick Malceski has 10.

Q1 27.00 - SYD 4.4 (28) GEE 0.3 (3)
Motlop shows his speed to outrun Shaw through the centre square.
His only thought is for goal...and his kick on the right, while Motlop's run was veering left, cannot come back and stays wide left for a point.
Q1 25.30 - SYD 4.4 (28) GEE 0.2 (2)
Geelong break out of the centre but Kelly's kick from 40m on the run spins like a mongrel punt and floats through for a point.
Q1 24.00 - SYD 4.4 (28) GEE 0.1 (1)
Franklin held by Taylor 30m out in front.
Replays suggest Taylor didn't have an excuse even though he protested his innocence to the umpire!
Franklin kicks the goal from 30m out in front!
Sydney extend the lead with 2.20 to go in the term.
Franklin brings up career goal 600 with that major.
Q1 23.00 - SYD 3.4 (22) GEE 0.1 (1)
Already down to 3.30 on the count-down clock as Franklin marks 55m out on the boundary.
He wheels out onto his left...and pulls it wide to the near side.
It feels like there's only one team out there at times. Geelong have stalled at the start line!
Q1 20.30 - SYD 3.3 (21) GEE 0.1 (1)
Swans long to Tippett again! He's one on two...and the Geelong defenders spoil each other as Smedts and Rivers collide!

Q1 17.30 - SYD 2.3 (15) GEE 0.1 (1)
It's the Tippett show!
Shaw kicks from behind centre and spots up Tippett on the lead! Direct and effective from the Swans!
The finish is lacking though as Tippett puts his 45m set shot on a slight angle wide left for a point.
Q1 16.00 - SYD 2.2 (14) GEE 0.1 (1)
Geelong are using the ball a lot around half forward and are slow to get inside attacking 50m. It's an uncharacteristic style.
Q1 12.45 - SYD 2.2 (14) GEE 0.1 (1)
Malceski targets Tippett but Rivers spoils....Tippett roves the spill and hands off to a front-and-centre Goodes!

Shaw's hadnball out of defensive 50m set Franklin free through the corridor.
Tippett was running back towards goal and marked with the flight!
Can Tippett finish after his earlier miss?
Just 25m out on a slight angle...he squeezes it in, just!
Sydney get the first goal!
Q1 7.00 - SYD 0.1 (1) GEE 0.1 (1)

Q1 5.30 - SYD 0.1 (1) GEE 0.1 (1)

Off hands for a behind, Geelong's first score.
Q1 3.00 - SYD 0.1 (1) GEE 0.0 (0)
McGlynn is tagging Joel Selwood. It's a stoppage-heavy start with the ball hugging the boundary on the Swans' half-forward flank.
Q1 1.00 - SYD 0.1 (1) GEE 0.0 (0)
Luke Parker kicks long to Tippett one-on-one who out-marks Rivers!
Just 20m out in front...and he puts it wide right!
It was nearly the perfect start but Tippett got too close to the man on the mark!
Geelong (2nd, 7-2) can go top of the AFL ladder tonight with a big win. The Cats' percentage of 117 would need a significant boost though to catch Port Adelaide's 146.
Defeat will leave the Cats vulnerable to falling as low as sixth by the end of the round.
Sydney (5th, 6-3) can climb as high as second tonight with a win, depending on the margin.
A moderate gap should push the Swans into second overnight.
Sydney can finish the round no lower than eighth should it lose tonight and results go against the Swans in other games through the weekend.
No late changes at the SCG for this compelling clash. Harry Cunningham will start as the sub for the Swans, with Jackson Sheringham to wear the vest for Geelong.
Final interchanges: Sydney: Dan Hannebery, Lewis Jetta, Jake Lloyd and Harry Cunningham (sub).
Geelong: Billie Smedts, Hamish McIntosh, George Horlin-Smith and Jackson Sheringham (sub)
