FULL TIME - Carlton 10.10 (70) Collingwood 14.20 (104)
Carlton kicked the first goal of the night but the next seven unanswered from Collingwood turned this blockbuster into a non-event.
Carlton's eight-goal last quarter denied the Pies a percentage boost and patched over a number of the cracks exposed.

Dayne Beams surged late to boot four goals from his 21 possessions. Dane Swan finished with 32 touches, Scott Pendlebury 26 and Tom Langdon 23.
Carlton's high stat men were Andrew Walker with 24, Andrejs Everitt and Kade Simpson with 23.

Jamison does well to spoil Cloke after a Pendlebury pass into forward 50m. The ball is wrapped up for a bounce.
Carlton won the toss and will kick to the Punt Rd End in the first quarter. Collingwood to attack the City End.
Collingwood out onto the ground. There's a decent crowd in but still some largely empty bays on the second and third level at the city end.
Short Term Stakes
Carlton (16th, 2-4) has plenty to gain tonight but might be bumped steadily down the ladder as the round progresses.
If the Blues win big tonight they could sit as high as ninth tonight, while a moderate win could boost the Blues to 11th and a narrow win might only lift it to 15th.
Defeat could leave Carlton 18th and last on the ladder at the end of the round, but it would have to be a thrashing, combined with upset wins for Brisbane over Sydney and Melbourne against Adelaide.
Short Term Stakes
Collingwood (4-2) starts tonight fourth on the ladder as the best of three four-and-two teams.
A win tonight will move Collingwood level with the trio ladder leaders, however the Pies' percentage of 107.6 means only a handsome win will boost it to third (Geelong, 128.4) and only a record thrashing of the arch rival could put it second or first.
A narrow Collingwood win could leave it vulnerable to dropping down the ladder should North Melbourne (4-2, 104) enjoy a big win against Gold Coast.
A small to moderate defeat could sink Collingwood as low as ninth depending on results in other games, while a big loss could leave the Pies as low as 10th at the end of the round.
