FULL TIME - Adelaide 10.16 (76) Collingwood 7.13 (55)

A drama-filled night at Adelaide Oval ends with the Crows reviving their top eight hopes and dealing a blow to Collingwood's top four credentials.

The win will doubtlessly be overshadowed by the three-quarter time siren being inaudible due to crowd noise. Adelaide kicked a goal, which counted, well after the TV clock hit 0:00. There may also be a question over whether or not the timekeepers sounded the siren until the umpires heard and acknowledged it, a key finding of the 2006 "silent siren saga" between St Kilda and Fremantle at York Park.

Adelaide dominated after the mid-stages of the second quarter when Collingwood hit a lead of 15 points.

The Crows won tackles 92-70 and clearances 50-33.

Patrick Dangerfield collected 32 touches, Scott Thompson 31, and Josh Jenkins 15 to go with his five marks and four goals.

Scott Pendlebury won 33 touches for Collingwood and Dayne Beams 30.

FULL TIME - ADE 10.16 (76) COLL 7.13 (55)

The siren sounds after an Elliott mark on the lead.

He lines up the set shot...for the margin and percentage's sake.

Adelaide players celebrate around him.

Elliott kicks wide right from 40m out directly in front.

Q4 - 27.15 - ADE 10.16 (76) COLL 7.12 (54)

Now Walker has a shot from 50m after a handball from Betts...but it slides across the face for another behind!

It won't matter because there's only 1.06 to go on the count-down clock.

Q4 - 25.00 - ADE 10.15 (75) COLL 7.11 (53)

Blair with a set shot from 40m on a slight angle now...and he hangs it out wide to the right for a point!

Down to 2.38 to go.

Q4 - 24.15 - ADE 10.15 (75) COLL 7.10 (52)

Goldsack picks up a loose ball and finds Dwyer in the corridor at half forward.

Goes to Blair...to Beams! Running with the flight he marks 30m out directly in front.

Even if he kicks the goal they might be out of time.

Blair not in a hurry...he misses wide left!

With 3.18 to go only a miracle can get Collingwood the win now.

Q4 - 22.00 - ADE 10.15 (75) COLL 7.9 (51)

Williams plays on into trouble in the back pocket...dribbles a kick to Talia.

He handballs to Walker 35m out in the pocket...he swings his boot through the ball but the snap kick is wide left for another behind.

Q4 - 20.45 - ADE 10.14 (74) COLL 7.9 (51)

This is the moment...Taylor Walker marks 45m out hard up against the boundary.

He shoots but it's away to the near side for a behind.

Into time-on but there's still 6.00 to go on the count-down clock.

Q4 - 19.30 - ADE 10.13 (73) COLL 7.9 (51)

Grundy can't take the ball at ground level and a back-tracking Podsiadly wins the ball in a battle of big men.

Adelaide switch flanks and clear for a throw-in forward of centre.

Q4 - 18.15 - ADE 10.13 (73) COLL 7.9 (51)

Sub update - Adelaide: Crouch is ON for Wright

Collingwood: Dwyer is ON for Witts

Q4 - 15.15 - ADE 10.13 (73) COLL 7.9 (51)

Sidebottom snaps from the right forward pocket but it's across the face for a point.

Crows can't get a clean possession from the kick-in and Collingwood drives it back inside 50m.

Blair holds his ground in a tackle to hand off to Swan 40m out.

But Swan's kick is a tired one and drifts across the face, bouncing out for a throw-in.

Q4 - 13.30 - ADE 10.13 (73) COLL 7.8 (50)

Talia and Rutten team up to deny Cloke in the forward pocket. Boundary throw-in deep in Collingwood attack.

The crowd at Adelaide Oval is 50,051.

Q4 - 9.00 - ADE 10.13 (73) COLL 7.8 (50)

Stat leaders - Adelaide: Dangerfield 28, Thompson 26, Jaensch, Smith 20.

Collingwood: Pendlebury 28, Beams 25, Langdon 23, Sidebottom 20.

goal

Q4 - 6.45 - ADE 10.13 (73) COLL 7.8 (50)

Goal for Adelaide!

Betts marks with the flight after an up-and-under kick from Cameron.

He's on an impossible angle in the right forward pocket.

Betts runs around and kicks a goal!

Going to be very hard for Collingwood from here!

Q4 - 4.00 - ADE 9.12 (66) COLL 7.8 (50)

Brodie Smith blazes away for a behind.

Perhaps only a Collingwood win will stop this siren issue being a controversy.

Crows win big = goal on siren was crucial momentum and scoreboard pressure.

Crows win narrow = goal decisive in the outcome.

The St Kilda-Fremantle "silent siren saga" established that full time is when the umpire hears the siren. But the obligation is also on the timekeepers to keep sounding the siren until the umpires acknowledged. It seems pretty clear that didn't happen here.

Q4 - START - ADE 9.10 (64) COLL 7.8 (50)

So a big finish coming up!

3QT - ADE 9.10 (64) COLL 7.8 (50)

The goal counts! This is St Kilda v Fremantle silent siren saga all over again!

3QT - ADE 8.10 (58)* COLL 7.8 (50)

The umpires didn't know the siren had gone for quite some time as they were busy breaking up a melee.

Now they're saying to the video umipre that they didn't hear the siren! Doesn't bode well for full time if we have a close finish!

Now the video umpire says they can't review it!
