* Former Bulldog Daniel Cross has told radio station 3AW that he will play with the Demons in 2014, and possibly 2015 as well. Read more

* Sydney has appointed former player Marty Mattner as an assistant coach in 2014. Mattner was forced to retire this year due to a hip condition. He played 222 games, 124 for the Swans and 98 for Adelaide.

* Collingwood national talent manager Derek Hine has told trade radio that it's just a matter of the Pies and GWS working out the details of the Taylor Adams-Heath Shaw deal, and it will be done by the end of the trade period on Friday. ''I'm really confident we'll be able to get something sorted out in the not-too-distant future,'' Hine said.

* For those who missed it, you must check out Jake Niall's weekend column, outlining a hypothetical column for Sydney in 2020, and the prospect of Lance Franklin's massive contract causing the Swans a few headaches. "What can we do about Buddy, Kirky?" Stuart Dew's senior assistant and spiritual advisor was staring out the window, contemplating the Faustian pact the Swans had struck for Franklin. He had won them a flag, his body was broken and they still owed him almost $4 million. ''I never see what has been done,'' thought Kirk. ''I only see what remains to be done." A thought bubble formed. ''Get the president to talk to headquarters,'' suggested Kirk. ''Maybe we can cut a deal.'' Read more

* Collingwood has secured ruck-forward Jesse White from Sydney and the No.6 draft pick from West Coast as part of a three-way trade. White, 25, enjoyed the best of his seven seasons with the Swans in 2013, playing 15 matches and kicking 20 goals. The Magpies received selections six and 44 from West Coast in exchange for picks 11, 31 and 49, with 44 on-traded to Sydney for White. Read more

"@SP_10: Welcome @Jessewhite_ good to have you on board! Getting a lethal basketball side down at the pies haha" so pumped mate thanks

* St Kilda has declared that veteran defender Sam Fisher will remain with the club. After having already parted ways with Nick Dal Santo and Ben McEvoy, the club says 31-year-old Fisher will remain at Seaford despite interest from GWS. The club's list manager Ameet Bains was quizzed about the sometimes-controversial Saint on morning radio and ended speculation about the defender’s future by declaring he would remain in the red, white and black.
