Carlton hopes there will be resolution this week on a police investigation into defender Simon White.

White was involved in a late-night altercation last Tuesday where it was claimed he punched a man outside a Melbourne nightspot after allegedly being verbally abused and filmed against his own wishes.

White has co-operated with police and it is understood there are mitigating circumstances surrounding the incident.

Once the police investigation is complete, which includes security camera footage, the Blues will determine if any club sanction is required.

Meanwhile, the Blues will debate whether Chris Judd returns from a hamstring tear to face Adelaide at the MCG on Sunday.

Judd has resumed running but the Blues are expected to adopt a cautious approach with the champion midfielder. Judd was hurt only six minutes after coming on as the substitute in the win over the Western Bulldogs in round five.
