Melbourne's 2011 best-and-fairest winner, Brent Moloney, has signed a two-year deal with the Brisbane Lions.
The 28-year-old midfielder is a restricted free agent, and will make the move to Queensland after Melbourne opted not to match the Lions' offer.
Moloney said he was looking forward to joining the Lions' midfield.
''I'm confident that I have plenty of good football in me and I can't wait to get stuck in to pre-season training with my new teammates,'' he told the Lions' website.
The Lions' national talant manager Rob Kerr said the club wanted to recruit some mature bodies to bolster its developing midfield, and Moloney would be a good fit.
''We identified Brent as the type of player who we felt could assist our young midfield group,'' Kerr said.
''He is strong at clearances - he ranked second in the AFL in 2011 - and that’s an area we were certainly keen to bolster.''
